The short answer

What is Prime Vitality?

Prime Vitality is Alpine CrossFit's Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 10 AM class, built specifically for adults 55 and older. It is real strength training — barbell work, functional movement, and measurable progression — scaled appropriately for the body you are training in today.

Most senior fitness classes are low-impact cardio and light stretching. Prime Vitality is different. The goal is strength that translates: picking up grandchildren, hiking with ease, traveling without dreading airports, and staying independent as you age.

The coach

Coached by a Masters competitor.

Prime Vitality is led by Lisa Arcangel — CF-L2 certified, 15+ years coaching, and a qualifier for the CrossFit Masters Semifinals. Lisa trains and competes at the level she coaches, in the 55+ age division. That matters: she is not teaching you a senior class, she is coaching you the same way she trains.

What you do

What movements does Prime Vitality include?

  • Barbell training — squats, deadlifts, presses, and pulls, with load that progresses as you do.
  • Functional movement — carries, lunges, step-ups, throws. The patterns of a strong life outside the gym.
  • Moderate-intensity conditioning — rowing, bike, sled — to build the aerobic engine that supports everything else.
  • Mobility and stability work — built into every session so range of motion improves alongside strength.

Every movement scales — load, range of motion, and complexity all adjust to the individual.

How it's different

How is this different from SilverSneakers or low-impact senior classes?

SilverSneakers and most rec-center senior classes are designed around mobility maintenance — low impact, light load, group cardio. That has real value, and many of our members do both.

What you do not get there is real, progressive strength training. Prime Vitality does. You lift, you progress, you measure. Members track their squat, deadlift, and press numbers. Many hit personal records in their 60s and 70s that they have never hit before.

A community of peers

Who's in the room?

Prime Vitality at Alpine attracts adults 55+ from across the northwest Denver metro — some brand new to fitness, some who trained decades ago, some active competitors in the Masters division. You are training alongside people at your life stage, and that changes the experience.

Cost

Included with Unlimited.

Common questions

Prime Vitality questions.

Is CrossFit safe for people over 55?
Yes, when properly coached and scaled. Every class is led by a CF-L2 coach who scales loads and movements in real time. Many members started with no recent lifting experience and have built measurable strength without injury.
Who coaches Prime Vitality?

Can I join if I've never lifted weights?
Yes. Many members had never touched a barbell before joining. New members start with a free No Sweat Intro and a short on-ramp with Lisa to learn the foundational movements.
How is this different from SilverSneakers?
SilverSneakers and most senior classes focus on low-impact cardio and mobility. Prime Vitality is real progressive strength training — barbell work, measurable benchmarks, strength that translates outside the gym.
