The Value of Adversity
The barbell feels heavy today, the WOD looks impossible, or maybe you just didn't want to get out of bed.
The Value of Adversity
No man is more unhappy than he who never faces adversity, for he is not permitted to prove himself.
— Seneca, Moral Letters to Lucilius 13.4
The barbell feels heavy today, the WOD looks impossible, or maybe you just didn't want to get out of bed. These moments of resistance, whether physical or mental, are not hindrances but opportunities. They are the proving ground where your true strength, resilience, and character are forged.
Don't shy away from the discomfort. Embrace the grind, the burn, the doubt, and push through it. It's in these struggles that you discover what you're truly capable of, not just in the gym, but in every challenge life throws your way.
Today's challenge: Today, when you hit that wall in your workout or your day, acknowledge the resistance, then choose to push through it for just one more rep or one more minute.
Workout of the Day
WOD coming soon — check the whiteboard at the gym this morning, or grab the day's class plan from your coach.
