The Only Thing You Own
When the WOD feels impossible, when the barbell is heavy, or when your lungs are burning, what's left?
The Only Thing You Own
The only thing that is truly your own is your reason, your will. Use it.
— Epictetus, Discourses 1.17.21
When the WOD feels impossible, when the barbell is heavy, or when your lungs are burning, what's left? Not your strength, not your speed, not your past achievements. What remains is your will, your internal choice to keep moving, to push through.
This inner resolve is the one thing no external force can take from you. It's the ultimate control you possess over your effort and attitude, regardless of circumstance. Today, remember that your power isn't just in your muscles, but in the unwavering commitment you bring to the task.
Today's challenge: Before your next set or movement, pause and consciously choose your effort level, then commit to it fully.
