Sticking To The Plan

No man is crushed by misfortune unless he has first been deceived by prosperity.

— Seneca, Moral Letters to Lucilius 91.3

When a WOD starts smooth, it is easy to mistake a fast first round for permanent greatness. We get cocky, push the pace too early, and forget that the barbell always collects its debt. Then the wall appears in round three, and panic sets in.

Stoicism reminds us that sudden shock hurts worst when we expect ease. Do not let a good warm-up lie to you. Stay steady when things feel light, because when the fatigue finally hits, you will need your discipline, not your initial enthusiasm, to finish the job.

Today's challenge: Keep your first round split identical to your last round split today—no hero starts.
