Don't Trust the First Ten Minutes
How a session starts predicts very little.
Don't Trust the First Ten Minutes
Nothing happens to anybody which he is not fitted by nature to bear.
— Marcus Aurelius, Meditations 5.18
Plenty of good sessions start badly. The legs feel dead in the warm-up and fine by the third set; the shoulder that ached at the door is forgotten by the second round.
Judging a workout from the opening minutes is how people talk themselves out of the ones that would have gone well.
Today's challenge: If today starts badly, give it fifteen minutes before deciding anything.
