Do Your Duty, No Excuses
Do not be ashamed to be helped. It is your duty to fulfill your post, like a soldier in the breach. What if you are lame and cannot scale the wall by yourself, but can with the help of another?
— Marcus Aurelius, Meditations 7.7
Sometimes, the WOD feels impossible. The weight is too heavy, the reps too many, the movement just isn't clicking. It's easy to get caught up in pride, thinking we have to do it all ourselves, perfectly, or not at all. But even the Emperor Marcus Aurelius knew the value of accepting a helping hand.
Your duty isn't to be flawless or to suffer in silence; it's to complete the task, to show up and put in the effort. If that means scaling, asking for a spot, or learning from a coach, embrace it. True strength is knowing when to lean on others to fulfill your potential.
Today's challenge: Today, if you're struggling with a movement or a weight, ask a coach or a fellow member for help or advice — no shame, just progress.
