Control Your Inner Citadel
That moment when the WOD looks impossible, or the barbell feels too heavy, isn't about the weight or the reps.
Control Your Inner Citadel
If you are distressed by anything external, the pain is not due to the thing itself, but to your estimate of it; and this you have the power to revoke at any moment.
— Marcus Aurelius, Meditations 8.47
That moment when the WOD looks impossible, or the barbell feels too heavy, isn't about the weight or the reps. It's about the story you tell yourself, the judgment you make in your head. The pain, the doubt, the frustration – these are not inherent to the task; they are reactions you choose.
You have the power to change that narrative. Focus on what you can control: your effort, your breath, your next rep. The external challenge remains, but your internal response to it is entirely up to you.
Today's challenge: Today, when you face a moment of doubt or discomfort, consciously reframe your internal dialogue from 'I can't' to 'I can try'.
