Next week we will be starting the always loved/hated Smolov Jr. squat program. To prep for it a little, we have some volume today to get the legs ready for it. I want to preface next week by saying, Smolov is hard. If you’ve never done it before, it is a very challenging workout, physically and mentally. It is a lot of squatting, but you are going to get so unbelievably strong from it and you will notice it in SO many ways! Your wallballs, your cleans and thrusters plus your box jumps, and so much more will benefit from having stupid strong legs. One thing that we are going to ask of you all is to seriously take care of yourself. Make sure youre eating enough. Sleep 8 hours minimum (I know, I know, its hard but try your best) Stretch and hydrate. Drink more water than you think you need, think, 1 ounce per pound of body weight.
Now would also be a great time if you need to order those lifting shoes you have had your eye on or some knee sleeves. (Talk to coaches as most of us can get 25% off at the CrossFit Reebok online store)
Get excited for Smolov!! Get mentally prepped right now! Come in and do some heavy squats!
